We made our name at Daniel Diamonds by offering the customer an array of options
to meet their needs. As such, we employ expert hand engravers to give your piece
an added touch.
Daniel Diamonds specializes in two types of hand engraving.
For those who would like their custom piece to take on a more antique look, we offer
shank engraving, which is a highly intricate and rare specialty. Primarily an indication
of antique jewelry manufactured before WWII, shank engraving adds metal work detail
to the outside of the ring.
Because it requires great skill, very few jewelers are able to offer shank engraving.
We are proud to provide our services at a fraction of the price of other fine jewelers.
Example of shank engraving
The most popular engravings are often on the inside of engagement and wedding rings.
Engraving can commemorate many other special occasions. Graduations, anniversaries,
milestone birthdays, and congratulations for births and promotions are all appropriate
events that will not appear tawdry in the future.
When selecting the text to be engraved, it is important to consider the size of
the piece. While text can be condensed in order to fit a specific area, a certain
amount of spacing is needed in order to clearly read the engraving. This is also
a consideration when deciding on a font.
Suggestions for personalized engravings:
Initials of person receiving the piece, or in the case of a marriage, the initials
of their partner.
Using a line from a song or poem with significant meaning. Noting the date of said
occasion or the usage of a significant word such as congratulations love, eternity,
happiness, forever, etc..
